Nobody would have imagined that this is where we’d end up when we were celebrating the turn of the year 6 months ago, but what we have seen and how we have adapted as a society is truly special. Our community has come together as one, be they civilian, be they in service – whether serving in the military or in our wonderful NHS – to support each other.
I’m incredibly proud to be a part of the British Armed Forces, especially with the various crises we’ve seen as of recent. It’s seemingly more important than ever that we have our amazing services to keep the country safe, whether on a local or national level. Having served as a Reservist for almost 3 years, I am also proud of the difference Reservists make within the armed forces sector, and the work done in the wider community. In these crises, it’s essential that we are united for the common cause, and it’s warming to have seen us come together to do just that.
Now that we’re in the process of rebuilding and making vital steps to rebuild our economy, I’d like to thank everyone in our community, and our wonderful military-owned businesses – some of whom have adapted massively and come together to support others. The resilience on display is inspiring and I know we will all come out of this with a renewed sense of spirit.
